Birth story
Wow the last 3 weeks have flown by so fast! I can't believe that this beautiful baby boy was inside me less than a month ago! It feels like he has always been here making us smile and the happiest parents! He is a really good baby only crying when we change his diaper or when he is hungry. When hes not asleep he just stares at everything very content!
Here is our birth story...
Friday April 8th I woke up with back cramps that were pretty mild. I called the labor and delivery and let them know what was going on, they told me to time my pain and when it gets to pain every 3-5 min then it is time to come in. I called my mom and let her know what was going on (she was going to start driving the 17 hours here when I went into labor). Well this was a whole week early and she wasn't ready to come yet so she told me to go and take a hot shower to help me feel better and possibly stop my pain. Well it didn't work. I had back pain for the next 5 hours and then it moved to the front. But they were very far apart and not very consistent.
Nick had a softball game and I went to support him, plus the hospital was right down the street from where his game was and I wanted to stay close to him. Also They still weren't very consistent. By the time we got home from the softball game they were about 15 min apart. We packed my bag for the hospital and went to bed. Well at least Nick went to bed. I pretty much stayed awake timing my contractions. At about 4 I had been having them every 5 min for 1 hour! I woke Nick up and said it is time to go to the hospital.
We called my mom on the way to the hospital and told her we would let her know what they said when we got there. They checked me out and I was dilated 4 cm. So we told my mom to get on the road. She ended up having to wait a few hours because she needed new tires and nothing is open that early to get new tires.
They moved me into the delivery room and I met my nurse Janet. I handled the contractions for a couple of hours but then I decided it was time for my epidural. After that I watched a movie and just relaxed. Finally I was dilated a 5 and they decided to brake my water. After that the epidural stopped working! I felt everything from then on.

twins?!
I was meeting one of my friends from high school at starbucks this morning. (She was my bestie in highschool and was helping the family she nannies for move out here.) She only had short time we could meet so we met for coffee. I was so excited when I got there because starbucks has smoothies now!!! I got a strawberry banana one which was very yummy! While I was anxiously waiting for my smoothie some guy asked me if I was having twins. I gave him a very mean and dirty grin and said very loudly. No sir but I am having my one baby in 9 days. I was so mad! I am so sick of people asking me if I am having twins. I am big but definitely not that big! I much rather love when people ask how much longer I have and then they tell me I look great! Not that I look like a giant beached whale. This man's mother should've taught him some better manners! And if he has a wife I am feeling kind of sorry for her!
