Nick on an ambulance

So Nick finished his hospital clinical hours a few weeks ago!! Now comes the crazy time! He is going to be working on a ambulance 60 hours a week for free on top of working some of his normal shift so we can keep our benefits. But luckily he is going to be working 24 hour shifts, Monday, Wednesday and every other Saturday. So it will seem like he is home more often because he will be gone while I'm sleeping. He is excited and nervous about it. I'm so excited for him because he is going to be a great paramedic!

Ward Party

We had the ward trunk or treat party last night. It was a lot of fun as usual! But it also made me realize something. I am not a very social person. I have my few close friends which mostly include family and I am 99% ok with that. Sometimes though I see some of my friends fluttering from group to group and looking very comfortable no matter who they are talking to and I get a little jealous. There is no way I could talk to that many different people and feel comfortable. There were a lot of people I did talk to for just a little bit and that was fine but I don't do well with people I don't know very well for long periods of time. It is weird for me to not be a social person because all growing up I was very social. I would just walk right up to strangers and start talking to them. It was just interesting last night to sit back and go whoa.

Here are some Halloween cupcakes I made for mutual a couple of weeks ago. They turned out really great!

So you make the cupcakes normal, then when they are cooled you had half a large marshmallow to make the chin. The eyes are jr mints, the nose is a chocolate chip and the teeth are slivered almonds.
