thanksgiving

We are at my parents house for a couple of days and then we are heading to Utah to spend the rest of thanksgiving. We flew in on Thursday and I was really nervous about flying by myself with Kostya. But he was great! He slept for about 20 min when we took off and was awake and playing the whole rest of the time. There was a nice gentleman who sat next to me and he held him for a little bit to give my arms a break. Kostya loves to jump and move all over the place so my arms were very tired by the time we landed. 

I am so used to CA weather the WA weather felt very frigid. I love coming home to snow and cold weather because it really feels like home. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel on this trip though because my parents now live in a house I have never lived in. But when I walked in the door it smelled like their house (they use an air purifier). I love their new house it is so perfect for them. Kostya is having a blast getting spoiled by his grandma and grandpa.

My mom is so wonderful. She offered to take Kostya every night so I can finally catch up on some sleep. Kostya is still getting up every 2 hours all night long. And he is not napping very well. It is very nice to sleep a full night!

Tonight we had a pre-thanksgiving turkey dinner and it was wonderful! My dad smokes a turkey every year and it is way yummy. I also tried a new recipe for an apple pie that has cheese in the crust. I can't wait to try it. I'm still too full from dinner right now to try it.

Tomorrow we are going to church and then have a lazy day.  Then we drive to Utah on Monday and I can't wait!

Wow I can't believe it has been so long since I posted! I guess having a child who can't play or be without you will do that.


First of all we moved into our own apartment! Downstairs is our living room, dinning area and kitchen. We have hardwood floors. Upstairs is our two bedrooms and our bathroom. We absolutely love having our own space but we miss living with Nick's parents all of the time! Good thing they are only 2 blocks away. We are having a blast decorating. Like today we spent half an hour starring at rugs at home depot and couldn't decide so we walked away with nothing! We are going to look online. We need a giant area rug because of our wonderful hardwood floors downstairs.


Kostya is scooting all over the place. He hates to be alone. While I am in the shower he has to be in the bathroom with me or in his jumper in the bathroom door and I have to stick my head out of the shower so he can see me and talk to him the whole time. He never wants to fall asleep anywhere but our arms. And lately he has been fussy with anyone but me. I am loving every moment of being a mom. Even though it is very overwhelming at times not being able to do anything because he just wants to be held.
He is not taking naps for longer than 30 min at a time and he is still getting up tons in the middle of the night. Some nights he drinks 2 bottles and some he drinks only 25 ml the whole night. I have tried night weaning him but since he varies it has made it very difficult. So we aren't sleeping and I get nothing done if Nick's not at home but I love it most days. And the days that are hard I just have to look at my baby and he will smile at me and it makes it all worth it!

We were at Nick's softball game last night and Kostya was so great the entire time! It has been the first warm softball game we have been to all year! He was out of his stroller and sitting on my lap talking and looking at everything the whole time. But his eyes were also watering and his nose was running so I'm thinking his has allergies. poor guy was choking on snot all night so we had to sleep sitting upright. I am on a search for a humidifier and nasal spray but do you guys know of anything else I can do to help him?

2 months

Man I have really been slacking in the blog department! Having a newborn really does take all of your time! Every time I sit to do something that when he wants but and I am absolutely loving it! Kostya is a perfect baby! He is never fussy but when he is hungry, poopy or tired he lets me known it! Boy that baby has some loud little lungs on him! He is starting to be awake for longer periods of time and is more aware of what is going on around him. He will just lay in his frog and accidently hit his toys which makes him smile and coo. He also sings with me every once in a while. I hum a tune and he coos back at me. We are loving every minute of being parents!

Blessing

We had a wonderful day with lots of family and friends. The blessing was perfect and I couldn't of asked for a better one or for a more perfect husband to give it to Kostya.

Birth story

Wow the last 3 weeks have flown by so fast! I can't believe that this beautiful baby boy was inside me less than a month ago! It feels like he has always been here making us smile and the happiest parents! He is a really good baby only crying when we change his diaper or when he is hungry. When hes not asleep he just stares at everything very content! 


Here is our birth story...

Friday April 8th I woke up with back cramps that were pretty mild. I called the labor and delivery and let them know what was going on, they told me to time my pain and when it gets to pain every 3-5 min then it is time to come in. I called my mom and let her know what was going on (she was going to start driving the 17 hours here when I went into labor). Well this was a whole week early and she wasn't ready to come yet so she told me to go and take a hot shower to help me feel better and possibly stop my pain. Well it didn't work. I had back pain for the next 5 hours and then it moved to the front. But they were very far apart and not very consistent.

Nick had a softball game and I went to support him, plus the hospital was right down the street from where his game was and I wanted to stay close to him. Also They still weren't very consistent. By the time we got home from the softball game they were about 15 min apart. We packed my bag for the hospital and went to bed. Well at least Nick went to bed. I pretty much stayed awake timing my contractions. At about 4 I had been having them every 5 min for 1 hour! I woke Nick up and said it is time to go to the hospital.


We called my mom on the way to the hospital and told her we would let her know what they said when we got there. They checked me out and I was dilated 4 cm. So we told my mom to get on the road. She ended up having to wait a few hours because she needed new tires and nothing is open that early to get new tires.


They moved me into the delivery room and I met my nurse Janet. I handled the contractions for a couple of hours but then I decided it was time for my epidural. After that I watched a movie and just relaxed. Finally I was dilated a 5 and they decided to brake my water. After that the epidural stopped working! I felt everything from then on.

twins?!

I was meeting one of my friends from high school at starbucks this morning. (She was my bestie in highschool and was helping the family she nannies for move out here.) She only had short time we could meet so we met for coffee. I was so excited when I got there because starbucks has smoothies now!!! I got a strawberry banana one which was very yummy! While I was anxiously waiting for my smoothie some guy asked me if I was having twins. I gave him a very mean and dirty grin and said very loudly. No sir but I am having my one baby in 9 days. I was so mad! I am so sick of people asking me if I am having twins. I am big but definitely not that big! I much rather love when people ask how much longer I have and then they tell me I look great! Not that I look like a giant beached whale. This man's mother should've taught him some better manners! And if he has a wife I am feeling kind of sorry for her!

Rock Star

Nick was taking a nap today so I decided to play me some guitar hero! I started playing standing up but then my feet started tingling so I decided to sit down  and when Nick woke up this is what he saw! We have these awesome headphones so whoever is playing xbox can hear the game but no-one else can. But I did wake Nick up with all the clicking of the guitar! :)

35 Weeks

nothing new

There is nothing really new going on in our lives. I know we are boring. Nick is working a ton and I never get to see him anymore he is working 50+ hours. He is picking up tons of overtime to put a nice down payment on the Harley of his dreams. My poor hubbie has been without a motorcycle since Aug. because he sold his old bike so he could get me a car when we found out we were going to be having a baby. He is such a wonderful man. I am so excited for him to get his motorcycle! The only problem is I won't be able to go on it for a few months so I told him I had one condition of him getting this bike while I'm preggo. NO-ONE can go for a ride on it with him until I do. I get the first ride. I am getting bigger by the day and I am tired all the time and I can never breathe. I can't wait until this kid drops so I can breathe again! The lightheadedness all of the time is getting kind of old and sometimes I am worried while I'm driving. So I drive my camry like a Grandma. :)

New Shirt

My little brother Bryce sent me this shirt when we first found out we were pregnant and I finally can fit into it! It is kind of weird getting excited to fit into a big shirt! haha.

Also Nick's cousins wives gave me a box full of maternity clothes! I am so excited to have clothes to wear!
